Arrears and aging
How much of your book is overdue and for how long: the four arrears buckets.
A loan being overdue is one thing; being three months overdue is another thing entirely. This report splits your overdue book by age of the delay, which is the most honest signal of whether you will get that money back.
Use it to prioritise the day's collections (start with what is rotting fastest), to decide what to write off, and to spot which collector is letting arrears slip.
Available on Gold and Premium, and an agent needs the reports:read permission. The owner always sees it.How to use it
Go to Reports → Arrears. The only filter is As of; empty means today.
The numbers at the top
Figure | What it means |
|---|---|
Projected arrears | The late-payment surcharge on each loan's current overdue installment (not the sum of all its late installments). It is a projection as of today: not collected, not posted to the books. |
Overdue balance | Everything you should have collected and did not: the pending instalment plus its arrears. |
Overdue loans | How many loans are in arrears at the cut-off date. |
By bucket
The four buckets are fixed and always shown (even at zero), measured in days overdue:
Bucket | Loans | Overdue balance | Projected arrears |
|---|---|---|---|
1-30 days | How many loans are up to a month late | Pending instalment + arrears in that bucket | Arrears in the bucket |
31-60 days | ” | ” | ” |
61-90 days | ” | ” | ” |
90+ days | ” | ” | ” |
What to watch: the weight of the 90+ bucket. If your balance concentrates there, you have a recovery problem, not a lateness problem.
By collector
The same information, split by who manages each loan (plus the Owner / office row for unassigned loans). Sorted by overdue balance, highest first: the collector with the biggest arrears shows up at the top. Each row carries Loans, Overdue balance and Projected arrears.
Where these figures come from
The arrears in this report are computed with the same engine as the app's arrears screen. That is deliberate: the report and the day-to-day can never say different things. If Arrears shows RD$ 1,200 of arrears on a loan, that loan contributes RD$ 1,200 here.
Arrears are projected at query time: they are not frozen and stored, they are recomputed. That is why the same loan contributes more arrears tomorrow than today if it stays unpaid.
Edge cases
- No overdue loans: the report does not fail; it shows the four buckets at zero and the message No overdue loans at this cut-off.
- Grace days: a loan still inside its grace period does not count as overdue.
- Past cut-off date: it shows arrears as they stood that day, handy to back a month-end close.
