Turning the simulation into a loan

From the schedule you showed the client to a created loan, without retyping anything.

You simulated the loan, the client said yes, and now it has to be created. Do not retype the numbers: carry them straight over.

The button

Below the schedule you will see Create loan with these details. Clicking it opens the normal loan form, already filled in with what you simulated:

  • Principal
  • Interest (%)
  • Instalments
  • Loan type
  • Payment frequency
  • Start date
  • Collect on Saturdays / Collect on Sundays

All that is left is to pick the client, fill in what the calculator does not ask for (Arrears rate (%) and Grace days) and confirm. Once created, Prestafolio takes you straight to the loan detail.

What you see is what gets created

The created loan's schedule is identical to the preview: the calculator and the server use the same financial engine. The instalment you showed the client on screen is exactly the one they will pay, including the last instalment's cent residue.

The one exception: the target instalment

If you used the optional Target instalment field (for SAN) or Fixed interest per period (for Fixed interest and Open), that value is not carried over to the form. This is deliberate: the real loan is created with the engine's default calculation for that parameter.

So if you simulated with a target instalment, the created loan's schedule may not be the one you saw. Review the loan summary before confirming, or adjust the interest (%) until the default instalment matches what you agreed.

If you do not see the button

The button only appears if you have the loans:create permission. A collector can use the calculator to quote (and show the client numbers) without being able to create loans: that is granted separately. See Roles and permissions.

The simulation also has to be complete: if the schedule has not been computed, there is nothing to convert.

What if I got it wrong?

Nothing you do in the calculator is saved: until you confirm the form, no loan exists. You can close the form, change the numbers in the calculator, and reopen it as many times as you like.
